Icestone surfaces are terrazzo-like composites that are as beautiful as they are
innovative. Extremely resilient and available in a large spectrum of colors, they
are perfect for all applications. This non-porous and durable surface make it a
perfect match for kitchen counter tops, bathrooms, flooring, and wall cladding.
Made of 100% recycled glass in a cement matrix, Icestone is a sustainable choice
that could replace a non-renewable or a petrochemical based material like your
typical "Solid Surface" counter top. And due to the VOC-free highly recycled
content, Icestone is ideal for buildings seeking LEED certification. To qualify, the
project must use materials with recycled content such that post-consumer content
constitutes at least 10% of the total value of the materials in the project or
combined post-consumer and ½ post-industrial recycled content constitutes at
least 20%. Using IceStone ®® products for counter tops, wall coverings, flooring,
bathroom dividers, shower stalls, greatly adds to the overall recycled content of
the project. In Layman's terms, Icestone is redirecting wasted glass from landfills
and using it in there product which makes it environmentally friendly
IceStone has also received the prestigious award from Cradle To Cradle for its
commitment to environmentally intelligent design.
